This blog marks the beginning of major work both on site and behind the scenes in the coming weeks and months.

One of my first tasks is to sign contracts for our IT software providers which will support the back-office management of the school and also the academic, behavourial and attendance data we will use to assess students on a daily basis. This system will also be accessible by parents from any device meaning that every behaviour point (positive or negative), register mark and grade will be available to them in real time, 24 hours a day. The system also provides teachers with enormous amounts of invaluable information about students both from their primary schools and their parents meaning that our team will be able to tailor their lessons to meet the needs of every student. I'm excited about using this system at LECA having used it Neale Wade Academy and I know that parents and carers will appreciate the sheer amount of information they can glean about their child as they progress through the Academy.

My other tasks, to name a few, are to visit the primaries and meet the rising Year 7 groups, finalise the curriculum offer including being able to support Highfield Littleport and for them to support us, carry out a full staff induction for the new team which will include a visit to the site in June and write a parent handbook designed to make the transition and year ahead as smooth as possible. All of these I will update you on as the weeks go by and more of the tasks get ticked off.

Straight after Easter, the final piece of the teacher recruitment will be complete with the interviews for a Maths specialist. We have some extremely strong applicants and I can confidently say that we will recruit a fantastic Maths teacher next week. With that done, the team, albeit small, will be firmly set to deliver a broad, balanced and exciting curriculum to the new cohort.

The Parent Forum continues this term with our next meeting on Wednesday at St George's at 5.30pm. There is always space for more so please do come along if you can.

Finally, I would like to wish you all a very happy Easter and an enjoyable Bank Holiday weekend.
