In this, the last blog of the academic year, it's important to reflect on what we've achieved and how far we've come together. There are of course far too many highlights to mention here and many of you will have read about them in previous blogs but when we look at the academic progress, the personal development, the character building, the strength of the teaching and support team, the development of the partnerships on the campus and beyond, LECA has had a great year and we thank everyone who has supported us. In that group is the Active Learning Trust, our Governors, our parents and of course our superb cohort of students.

Last week was another first for LECA. Chris Jones, our Lead Practitioner, delivered a fantastic conference - The Golden Thread - in partnership with the ALT, the Fenland and East Cambs Opportunity Area and the Fenland and East Cambs Research School. Well over a hundred teachers and educationalists converged at LECA and heard from a wide range of inspirational speakers including keynotes from Alex Quigley  (Education Endowment Foundation) and Daniel Muijs, Head of Research from Ofsted. Following the keynotes, the group split into breakouts, many of which were delivered by local teachers in Cambridgshire schools. For me, this shows the strength of our local network and the real belief and drive we have to improve outcomes for our young people. Well done to Chris and everyone who helped deliver this; we are certain it will be the first of many.

Friday was our first ever house sports day and, despite the persistent showers, the students were absolutely brilliant. Everyone took part in every event, meticulously planned by Mr Mortlock, and the 'can-do' spirit was there right to end. Well done to all and thank you to all the staff who made it run so smoothly.

This week we stay busy to the end with our Summer Fair on Tuesday (3pm - 5pm) and our House Activity day and Quiz on Wednesday. Wednesday will also be our final fundraiser for the East Anglian Air Ambulance so it will be non-uniform with a £1 donation. We hope to welcome many of you to the fair on Tuesday and help us raise a lot of money for this fantastic cause.

Finally - we thank you again for your support this year and hope you have a great summer. We look forward to working with you all next academic year and to welcoming our third cohort of Year 7 and their parents into our community.
